Tomatoes, bees, and sex toys.

New post over at Skepchick :)

I’ve been having an “ask an entomologist” session over at the JREF forums, and a question came up about tomatoes and pollination. Mercutio was concerned that with the disappearing honey bees, his tomatoes might not set fruit. Learn about buzz pollination, and how electronics can help in the absence of bees at Skepchick!

    Hmmm.

I’m curious about the bees. Love to see some rock hard science on that. You don’t need the toys, lol. Ha ha, that’s another story.

One thing that is interesting tho. Assuming that there is a huge bee problem, I saw on a BBC WWW site a claim that 60% of honey bees are loaned to almond farms in cali.

Ha ha. So, you are saying that plants can have sex toys to do it artificially?

    Bizarre but still scary

Huh, a comment about “rock hard science” coming from a guy with a myspace page about psychics.

    Riiiiight.

    How about looking at this?
