Crocus!

The first crocus came up yesterday–It almost, kinda, sorta is spring. YAY!

In the spirit of going outside and enjoying nature, I present something I came across the other day:
http://notv.stanford.edu/

“Children spend more time watching television and videotapes and playing video games than in any other activity except sleeping.”
This is an entire curriculum built around getting kids to go TV-free.

In working on my grant last year, I looked at a lot of these studies about what kids are actually doing with their time. And it all is very scary, especially for someone interested in environmental education. Please, get your schools to participate!!

And now I’m going to go outside and try to dig in frozen dirt.
