If you find yourself with extra time, and are at a loss for things to read online (HA!) you might check out this week’s The Scientist. They are asking people to name their favorite science blogs.

Much to my amazement, down there in the comments–The Bug Blog!
(*runs in circles. Woooohoooo!*)

I want to also mention Laelaps, another WordPress sci-blogger who gets a shout out, and Behavioral Ecology. How awesome is it that students are engaged in writing about science this early in their careers? AND, being recognized for it?! Go Team! :D

You can see the picks of some of the “A list” science bloggers (PZ et al.) on that page as well. I’ve already found some new blogs to add to my page of feeds.

Just in case you are arriving here from The Scientist, here’s some of the top posts on this blog:

The daily top posts are on the right sidebar; folks are still obsessed with the giant spiderweb. :p

  1. Congratulations on your own mention! I was just about to e-mail you when I saw you already had this up. One *minor* note though; I’m actually an undergraduate student (although you can call me a graduate student if you want to… it makes me feel semi-accomplished, hah). Still, thanks for all your kind words, and please keep up the excellent blogging. :)

  2. I gave you an honorable mention. Keep up the good work! (or Fight the good fight, whichever you prefer)

  3. holy crap–that’s even more exciting Laelaps! I must have missed reading that.

Let me know when it’s time to apply to grad school–I work in the dean’s office of my college :)
