BTW, in case you missed it, the Vatican did, in fact issue new guidelines about sinning, and using birth control is now a deadly sin.

Also, does it seem to anyone else that the denial of birth control sets up an inherent contradiction with the admonitions to not over consume or create poverty?

  2. I’m no theologian but it looks like our current administration better get some asbestos pajamas for D,E,F, and G alone!

  3. I’m curious what effect this is going to have on the situation in Africa… I’m about to start a long series of blogs looking at a number of African nations country, and these kinds of pronouncements are taken very seriously there…

I’m also curious to see what the Pope says when he visits the States, whether he talks about Global Warming. I don’t know when he’s next coming to Britain…

  4. On the more positive side, at least now environmental pollution is considered a deadly sin. However, viewed in context of the other six, especially the use of birth control,
it is vaticanesquely hypocritical, since the major cause of pollution is human overpopulation and greed.

  5. Bug Girl’s Note: I removed a great deal of this comment, per my comments policy, since it’s clearly a copy/paste of a Long religious rant.

    1. Exodus 20:14
    Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Exodus 20:13-15 (in Context) Exodus 20 (Whole Chapter)
    2. Leviticus 20:10
And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death…..
